It isn't uncommon for many users to use weak passwords since they are easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins which aren't updated for a long period of time. In either of these examples, it will not be a challenge for a hacker to take over the site and following that to take control of other Internet sites which are hosted in the very same account. To prevent such a scenario, we have added an innovative security option called JailHost. It restricts the access that a script has just to its own folder, so in case one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to view any other content in your account, therefore the damage will be small. Of course, employing JailHost won't substitute the safety measures you must always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, still it'll allow you to restrict any damage to one site only.
JailHost in Hosting
If you host your Internet sites inside a hosting account from our company, you could protect them by using the JailHost option with just a few mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This option is available with all plans and can be enabled for every folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, so files for many different sites do not get mixed up as it often happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default as you might use scripts which require access to folders outside the main site folder and this option may interfere with their correct operation, but shielding all the other folders is very easy. In case any protected Internet site gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to recover it very quickly because we'll have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups through Hepsia.
